La Jolla Plein Air

🌊 Paint where land meets water—and let nature teach you the language of light and atmosphere. In this immersive plein-air demo, Tayler Olivas takes you to the cliffs, waves, and golden light of La Jolla, guiding you step-by-step through capturing coastal landscapes with purpose and clarity.

You’ll learn how to:
🎨 Observe and paint outdoors—read changing light, shifting air, and the interplay of land and sea in real time.
📐 Simplify complex coastal scenes into strong value-and‐shape structures so your painting remains coherent from sketch to finish.
🌿 Create depth, movement, and mood—use tone, color, and edge to anchor the eye through terrain, water and sky.
💡 Make confident decisions on-site—so your plein air work stays loose, expressive, and full of life, not over-worked or tentative.

Perfect for artists of all levels who want to strengthen their painting in the field—especially those ready to translate outdoor energy into work that reads strong indoors too. Runtime: 1+ hour
