    ARC Living Master artist Jeff Hein spent 13 years researching the old masters’ way to compose and complete over-sized multifigure paintings. The process itself is considered a lost art in the digital era as photoshop and cameras have become the primary reference source for artists.

    In this three-day workshop, we will compare light patterns in an epic landscape, starting with front-lit vs. back-lit. Then we will study sunsets and nocturnes, learning to push either value contrast or color contrast to achieve luminous paintings for both pastel artists and oil painters.
